"Smart Discipline"
Today I signed Darrin and I up for a "Smart Discipline" seminar that is coming to town next month. I saw an advertisement in this month's issue of Upstate Parent and was so excited. This is what the ad says:

- Stops disrespectful language
- Puts end to homework hassles
- Instills positive beliefs
- Gets kids to clean up room
- Gets kids to do what you ask the first time
- Gets kids to bed on time
- Builds self-confidence
- Puts end to whining
- Gets kids self-motivated
- Stops interrupting
- Curbs negative attitudes
- Helps with ADHD kids
If you'd like to see when/if this seminar is coming to your area click here. I'll let you know how it goes!
That is exactly what I need! Where is the seminar at? Wish I lived closer, I think I would definitly benefit from that! Let me know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteThe seminar is also coming to Columbia next month. Maybe you could make that one.
ReplyDeleteAll these things I am sure help, but the BIBLE tells us if we spare the rod we are spoiling the child.
ReplyDeleteRead the book!!!
To my reader from Tornado, WV: spanking has it's place. However "sparing the rod" can in no way help with self-esteem issues nor problems associated with ADHD. The problems my son has due to his ADHD are not his fault. It is a neurological disorder. He can't help it anymore than a child with another disability could. It is my hope that this seminar will give my husband and myself tools to use when dealing with issues that he faces. You may want to visit my ADHD blog to learn more about the disorder... adhdguide.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteSparing the rod may help with self-esteem issues even if the person has ADHD.
ReplyDeleteIf the person gets into trouble at school or whereever, then you can not always attribute his or her problems to ADHD.
Now I am sure ADHD has its place but there are times that the child should be spanked and not just punished.
That's the great thing about America...we're all allowed to have our own opinions. Thanks for sharing yours.
