Book Meme

I was tagged by Andria over at Boy Crazy .....

So here are the directions:
Grab the book closest to you.
Open to page 123.
Scroll down to the 5th sentence.
Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog - name of the book and the author.
Then tag 3 people.

Here goes....Today, many specialists in the field of reading comprehension subscribe to the schema theory. Schemata, those organized structures of knowledge or "memory banks" in which new facts and experiences find a home, hooked firmly to memories of previous knowledge and events, are what makes learning possible. A schema supplies a solid system for memory retrieval and allows us to make inferences about life as it occurs around us.

That was from Succeeding Against the Odds (How the Learning Disabled Can Realize Their Promise) by Sally L. Smith. My nine year old son has three learning disabilities, therefore, I'm interested in the subject. Hopefully I'll learn something that can actually benefit him.

Now I tag.....
Angie, Becky, and Rose, but anyone else who sees this is welcome to play as well.
